London Anchor Institutions’ Network

I joined Greater London Authority to deliver immediate support to ensure the success of a forthcoming launch event, and create a brand and digital channels solution for London Anchor Institutions’ Network, supported by Bloomberg Associates in New York.

First developed in the US, the term anchor institutions refers to large, typically non-profit, public sector organisations whose long-term sustainability is tied to the wellbeing of the populations they serve.

  • Troubleshooting of a planned launch conference, revised to run online as a virtual Summit enabling 200 leaders from the US and UK to attend, including Mayor Khan, and inspiring speakers who shared their experiences of working on projects in diverse cities including New York and Chicago. The event was Chaired by Linda Gibbs, Principle, Bloomberg Associates and former Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services for New York City.

  • Sourcing a designer and commissioning a simple identity solution, brand guidelines and a suite of business materials, produced by Planning Unit.

  • Developing the first communications strategy.

  • Creating digital channels including building and launching a Wordpress site with exclusive member content, launching social media channels and a newsletter.

  • Undertaking initial outreach and engagement with key partners including the Met Police, NHS, universities, TfL and more.
